Penn Staters, alumni, fans, and guests from across the country in for the game can all met up at this gathering co-sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association and the Minnesota Chapter on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm. The mixer will occur at Kokomo’s Island Café on the 3rd floor of the Mall of America. It is suggested to park in the east ramp. When coming out of the parking ramp, head clockwise to the south side of the mall (just past Bloomingdale’s.)

    Entertainment for the evening includes a visit by the Penn State Pep Band, cheerleaders, and Nittany Lion. Complimentary light appetizers will be provided along with a cash bar. The Minnesota Chapter store will have their traveling Chapter Store on hand, selling Chapter T-shirts and universal PSU wool hats. All proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Chapter’s Daniel S.     The Alumni Association will be hosting the 2010 Penn State vs. Minnesota Football Pep Rally at Gateway Plaza, directly south of the McNamara Alumni Center, 200 Oak St. SE, Minneapolis, MN. (This is less than 2 blocks away from TCF Bank Stadium!) The tent will open up 8am with the program starting at 9am. Light refreshments and beverages will be available along with pom-poms.     The Minnesota Chapter no longer has any tickets available for direct purchase. We are willing to assist alumni who are interested in buying/selling their tickets via our Football Ticket Exchange Program. Check it out!

    The options for tailgating and parking are not ideal at the University of Minnesota. For parking, we recommend that you visit their website at http://www1.umn.edu/pts/index.htm. As the saying goes, Come Early, Be Loud, Stay Late – best strategy for finding parking and then leaving after the game in our opinion!

Tailgating Information - The University of Minnesota permits tailgating on football game days in designated surface parking lots, during specified hours and under other general conditions. Tailgating may begin 6 hours before game time, but no earlier than 7 am. Tailgating must end 4 hours after game time or midnight, whichever comes first. All vehicles must leave the parking lots when they close at midnight. Green space within a parking lot or within 15 feet of a designated surface parking lot may be used for tailgating by the participants assigned to that parking lot. Tailgating is NOT permitted on any other University of Minnesota property, including parking ramps and garages. These policies are intended to enhance the football game day experience, promote a safe campus environment and preserve the beauty of our campus. Please park in designated lots provided for game day parking. Illegal parking will be strictly enforced, on and off campus, and will be subject to tagging and towing at owner's expense.
